Empowering Women in Business

1 in 3 female business owners have experienced sexism

Only 29 per cent of small businesses in the UK are run by women, falling to just 4 per cent in the trades. We surveyed women business owners to dig deeper into the challenges they face and the opportunities ahead.

Our research found one in three female entrepreneurs have experienced sexism as a business owner, and one in five face unequal access to opportunities. By offering exclusive mentoring sessions with Baroness Karren Brady CBE and our first ever webinar, we wanted to empower existing founders and those considering starting their own business to enable their big dreams.

Key challenges for women in business

Our survey of more than 800 women who run their own businesses highlighted some of the key barriers they face as business owners. Read the full report.

We hosted our first ever small business webinar on Thursday 17 March, which featured inspiring talks from Karren Brady and our Business Boost 2021 winners, Watch This Sp_ce. You can find out more about our speakers below.
